The push-button automatic (Powerflite 2-speed) and styling of this 1961 Plymouth Fury Convertible just scream space age – this Mopar is one cool car – even with the loss of the iconic tail fins this year.
Check out that interior and note the “Command Seat” with the high back that gives the driver extra shoulder support and helps prevent driver fatigue. Standard equipment included back-up lights and an electric clock. The Fury was available in 14 body colors and 5 color-keyed interior trim shades. They were equipped with everything the Belvedere had with upgraded upholstery, full length belt-line trim and Fury signature behind the front wheel openings.
Plymouth made 6,948 Fury Convertibles for 1961 with a factory base price of $2967. This car is equipped with power steering – a $77 option.
