1970 Oldsmobile 442 – Test Drive

Arguably one of the best performing 4-4-2's, this 1970 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 Holiday Hardtop is definitely no slouch. With a massive 455 cubic inch V8 it produced 500 lb of torque at 3200 RPM. It came with a fully synchronized heavy-duty 3-speed manual transmission with Hurst Competition Shifter. Only really beaten by the full W-30 package.

This car is fitted with option W25 which is the fiberglass hood package with functional hood scoops and low-restriction air cleaner (found on the full blown W-30 package)

Sadly 1970 was the last big performance year with 1971 seeing the beginning of the end for muscle cars as new regulations pushed power down.

Oldsmobile made 14,709 4-4-2 Holiday Hardtops for 1970 at a base price of $3,376.
