1968 Ford Mustang – video walk around

"EXCITEMENT it starts here! It happens in a Mustang Hardtop", proclaimed the original brochure.

Originally built in the Metuchen, NJ assembly plant, this 1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop has a 200 cubic inch (inline) six-cylinder engine (VIN code T) producing 115 horsepower with an upgraded 5-speed Tremec manual transmission. Exterior paint is Wimbledon White with a Dark Red interior.

Cosmetically not much had changed with the car over the 1967 models (a year that saw significant alterations) - just some trim and script changes. A notable introduction for '68 was the 302 cubic inch V8 with 4-barrel carb. This was something that would prove popular with Ford fans for many years.

Ford's total production of the Mustang for 1968 was 317,404 units, of which 249,447 were hardtops. 29.3% of Mustangs made that year had a six-cylinder engine. Mustang actually saw a drop in sales for '68 compared with previous years. It now had competition with Chevrolet's Camaro, in particular, becoming quite popular.

This car is currently for sale on eBay.
