This mild Resto-Mod is a 1964 Ford Country Sedan 4 door 9-passenger Station Wagon in very striking Skylight Blue paint, which is correct for the period. The interior is original 2 tone blue vinyl and shows little wear, not surprising as this is a 28,000 mile car.
The VIN tells us this was originally a 289 cubic inch V8 with 2 barrel carburetor although is now fitted with a 351 Cubic Inch Windsor.
The Country Sedan was the base trim level station wagons in ’64 on a par with the Galaxie 500, although you can see they still looked great. The upper level was the Country Squire which paralleled the Galaxie 500XL models.
As always, it is great to see a well preserved station wagon as so many have served a hard life and are no longer with us.
Ford sold 25,661 Country Sedan 4 door 9-passenger Station Wagons (body style code 74) during the 1964 model year with a base price of $3042. Ford managed to shift a total of 140,929 station wagons (Country Sedan and Country Squire) for ’64.
