This beautifully restored 1959 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman 2-door hardtop is one of just 1,393 made and was previously owned by Bruce Willis as part of his collection.
The Bimini Coral over Pearl White two-tone paint looks great on this eye-catching design. The painted center section of the full-width spears draw the eye down the Forward Look design.
This luxurious model originated in 1956 as a top-of-the-line model. This changed in 1957 when the Adventurer was released but the Fireflite maintained its luxury appointments and still sat above the Firesweep and Firedome models.
At the rear we have the unmistakable tri-cluster turret shaped taillights. A look not too dissimilar to its Dodge cousins.
Inside, the Fireflite boasted a Parisian tweed and vinyl trim with air foam seat cushions and full-floor carpeting. This interior has been sympathetically restored to factory specifications.
DeSoto cars received a new instrument panel for 1959 and featured the new “Safety Color Accuribon speedomoter” that changed color as the speed changed. The padded dash was standard on Firedomes and Fireflites.
Under the hood sits a 325 horsepower, 383 cubic inch Turboflash V8 engine. It is paired with a TorqueFlite automatic transmission – both standard on Fireflite models.
The Fireflite Sportsman 2-door hardtop had a base price of $3,381 and was one of 6 models in the lineup.
This particular car was purchased with some nice options including:
|Heater / Defroster||$98|
|Contant Control Power Steering||$106|
