1947 Cadillac Series 62 – video walk around

This is a beautiful 1947 Cadillac Series 62 4 door sedan in Camden Green paint. The engine is a 346 cubic inch Flathead V8 and transmission is a Hyrda-Matic automatic transmission which was a $186 option at the time.

Very little had changed between the 1946 and 1947 Cadillacs and the easiest way to identify between the two was the “Cadillac” script (rather than block letters) on the front fender of the ’47. The front grille now had five large horizontal blades instead of six and full wheel covers that became known as Sombreros were available (a $25 option).

Cadillac produced 25,834 Series 62 4 door Sedans (style number 6269) for 1947 at a base price of $2523.  To put this into perspective, a Chevrolet Stylemaster 4 door Sport Sedan would have cost $1276 – around half the price of the Cadillac.
