Here we have a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in Dark Red Metallic with Red interior and a 350 cubic inch (5.7L) V8 engine with four barrel carburetor.
Monte Carlo began in 1970 and the first generation ran until 1972. Big changes happened to the Monte Carlo for 1973. Four inches were added to the length with a more sculptured look and new rear quarter sheet metal. The 350 cubic inch engine was the same as the one offered in the Impala. Standard equipment included, power brakes, power steering and automatic transmission.
The interior changed too with the new cockpit-style instrument panel. The original brochure told us that ‘luxury begins with molded full foam seats both front and rear’.
Chevrolet built an amazing 233,689 Monte Carlos for the 1973 model year. Three levels of trim were available, base Monte Carlo, ‘S’ series and Landau. Prices were $3415, $3562 and $3806 respectively.
