1970 Chevrolet Caprice

Here’s a very special 1970 Chevrolet Caprice 2-door Hardtop (Chevrolet’s top-of-the-line full-size model that year) that has done just 8,000 original miles and remains unrestored – and why would you? It’s in great condition.

The Caprice enjoyed power front disc brakes as standard, had distinctive side moldings and had special cloth and vinyl interiors.

Chevrolet’s full-size cars received a revamp this year with a much more more traditional looking bumper and full width grille arrangement. The rear bumper now sported slot-style vertical taillights.

Mulsanne Blue paint looks great on these full-size Chevrolets.

Inside, you’ll find 1970 style luxury pretty much as it came out of the factory.

Factory Four-Season Air Conditioning is fitted to this car at an original cost of $384. The following options were also chosen by the original owner: variable ratio power steering ($105) and AM/FM stereo with 8-track ($239).

The 1970 Caprice started at $3,474 and came with a 250 horsepower, 350 cubic inch V8 as standard. Also standard was a 3-speed manual transmission. If you wanted an automatic transmission you could get a Powerglide for $174 or a Turbo Hydramatic for $201.

An additional $47 would get you the 300 horsepower Turbo-Fire 350 V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor.
