Here's an interesting car. One of ELEVEN Chevrolet convertibles that turned up in a in a Puerto Rico collection having been stored for 25 years - A 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible.
With just under 70,000 miles on the odometer this would make a wonderful full restoration candidate.
The power top doesn't currently work but that is hardly a surprise if it's been standing for a long time. Would you fully restore this lovely Bel Air or enjoy it as a fun 'driver' car?
While the exterior of the car has received a repaint (just once in its lifetime), the interior is all-original.
Convertibles had all vinyl interiors. This one in blue / ivory is showing some signs of wear but doesn't look bad for its age.
Under the hood is the original 265 cubic inch V8 which is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission (3-on-a-tree).
Chevrolet produced 41,292 of these Bel Air convertibles for the 1955 model year. The base price with the V8 installed here would have been $2,305.
The original owner of this convertible also opted for a Deluxe push-button AM radio costing $65.
So, having now seen the light of day for the first time in two and a half decades this beautiful Bel Air Convertible is ready to be enjoyed and loved by someone new. Could it be you?
