This is a 1968 Buick Riviera GS 2-door Sport Coupe Hardtop in Inca Silver Mist and black vinyl interior. It was built in Flint, MI and has a 430 cubic inch V8 with 3-speed ST-400 automatic transmission.
1968 Riviera’s used the same body shell as the previous year but had a reshaped front end with parking lamps housed in the bumper. The bumper also surrounded the front grille which housed the retractable headlights.
As this is a GS model it had heavy duty suspension both front and rear. Posi-traction differential. Monogram front fender “GS”. Monogram instrument panel “Riviera GS”.
The original brochure stated, “You will not settle for compromises between yesterday and today. You will settle for no less than Riviera”
The base price was $5245 and Buick made 49,284 Riviera’s for the 1968 model year.
