It might not be the most popular old car and have unique look, but get behind the wheel of a 1973 AMC Gremlin and you’re in for a lot of fun. Here we have one in Fairway Green and matching green interior with a 232 cubic inch inline-six engine and manual transmission. Those colors were definitely very seventies.
As with most cars in 1973, this Gremlin now had to have bumpers that could withstand a 5 mph impact to the front.
You don’t see too many of these left nowadays especially as they were prone to rust.
It was a great year for AMC with their Gremlin in 1973 and they manage to sell 122,844 cars. Compared this with 1972 when they shifted 94,808 Gremlins – that’s a 30% increase in sales. This car had the optional air conditioning package offered at $377, and considering the six cylinder Gremlin had a factory price of $2098 for 1973, that was a lot of extra change to pay.
